Berrys are pleased to have been involved in the concept, developed design and technical design stages of a beautiful new dwelling in Cardeston. Set in picturesque countryside, adjacent to Cardeston Church, this young family home with exquisite views was permitted through the Local Planning Authorities ‘Affordable Housing Policy’. Due to the dictation of the interesting contours within the original site location, an unconventional approach was taken in terms of separation and divide of living and sleeping spaces.
Upon entrance through the timber and glazed frontage you are greeted with a light and airy atrium space containing a gallery landing and access to the mezzanine living quarters and first floor master bedroom, leaving the atrium to flow through to a carefully considered kitchen dining space and secluded bedroom to the rear.
Owing the contours of the site, the mezzanine living quarters works as an exceptional space with views across to Cardeston Church to the North West, whilst the South Western opening allows admittance onto an elevated garden entertainment area with views stretching across the wider countryside and making use of the southern orientation for maximum exposure to sunlight. In the double height South Eastern element of the dwelling, the ground floor provides a modest kitchen dining space which is allowed the luxury of borrowed warmth and light from the central atrium, and an enclosed double bedroom with adjacent wet room. At first floor level is found a large master bedroom and en suite, with the bedroom taking advantage of delightful views across the open countryside back towards Shoot Hill to the North East.
